Focus and scope

DC PAPERS specializes in the critical, theoretical and historical study of architecture from multiple disciplines - architecture, philosophy, history, human sciences, urban studies, etc. - aimed at a diverse academic and professional audience.

Parent evaluation process

DC PAPERS requests the submission of articles to be published following the external evaluation procedure known as PEER REVIEW. The editorial board of the magazine, once it has been verified that the article complies with the standards relating to style and content indicated in the guidelines for authors, will send the article to expert reviewers within the specific field of the proposed topic to be evaluated. This process will be carried out anonymously. Texts must meet academic requirements according to APA standards - 7th edition. Authors must comply with the instructions on the checklist for the preparation of submissions.

Open access policy

This magazine provides immediate free access to its content under the principle of making research freely available to the public, which promotes a greater exchange of global knowledge.

History of the magazine

DC PAPERS is an academic magazine created in 1998 within the framework of the Department of Theory and History of Architecture and Communication Techniques of the Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña, with the aim of building a space in which the theory and history of architecture was approached from the exercise of criticism. After the opening of its scientific committee and the open call for articles in 2009, the journal was indexed in the main databases in the AU field. In 2026 it begins a new stage as a digital open access research journal.
